If we take the time to imagine a world without life, it certainly would feel like an empty, lonely place. Biology is the study of life. But what is life? Life fills the world with a certain kind of energy that is often hard to explain. Living things are alive. This is an obvious statement, but what does being alive mean? Scientifically, we attempt to explain what life is and all the detailed mechanisms involved, only to discover there are more explanations to be given when we find more answers. It still is a mysterious wonder and a diverse world be live in. The millions of living organisms on the planet show a diversity that is beyond imagination, yet they all share the same requirements to be "alive" or living. Yes, indeed, Biology is a fascinating subject. It is a subject that we share among other living things, so we are a part of life. Life is dynamic. The more we study Biology, the more we see how complex it is and how life is just simply, a miracle, that we can really never fully understand. |
