The use of the word "parent" can refer to "guardian", "teacher" or someone directly overseeing the science education of the student.

For the purposes of clarity and definition, Labs 4 Home and instructor are synonymous.

Terms of Service Agreement
|
|
|
|
General Terms
 | | 1a. The science labs provided by Labs 4 Home, does not or will not discriminate enrollment in the lab classes of any student based on | | | race, culture, religion, political views, or by physical, mental or emotional challenges. The lab classes are open to all home school students. (see exception under 1b)

 | | 1b. Any student that cannot properly conduct themselves in the lab class for any reason, that distracts the lab class with inappropriate | | | language, inappropriate subject content or inappropriate dress attire, or generally annoys or brings up any reasonable controversial conflict of interest to include but not limited to racial, cultural, religious, or political issues to the class may be dropped from the lab class, if this behavior doesn't change.

Responsibilities of Labs 4 Home and the lab instructor
 | | 2a. It is understood by the parent and student that Labs 4 Home only provides the laboratory experience which includes a location for the | | | labs, instruction, supervision, a syllabus with topics covered each week, use of equipment and supplies, and individual help with the parent and/or student by e-mail, phone or in person (within the class time period) related to the lab and limited overall science help. (see 2b.)

 | | 2b. The instructor can provide science related (other then lab help - see 2a) tutoring at $15 per hour to any student enrolled in a lab class | | | provided time availability. Group tutoring can also be provided at a lower rate to be determined based on the size of the group and the location.

 | | 2c. It is understood that Labs 4 home only provides the lab portion of the student's science work and will not provide any grade or | | | evaluation in written form. No letter of completion will be given, unless requested in person, by e-mail or phone 2 weeks or before the last lab class. This letter of completion will be available the last day of class for those that request this. For any written evaluation or letter of completion that is requested less then 2 weeks before the last day of class or any time thereafter, may be provided by the instructor with no promised date. Exceptions to the above will be considered, especially when it is a matter of importance for their specific school or for future classes including colleges. The instructor is always available to discuss their student's behavior or work ethics at anytime, in person, by e-mail or by phone.

 | | 2d. Letters of recommendation, or recommendation forms may be written/filled out by the instructor, upon request, with two or more weeks | | | notice. If this is to be mailed, provide the necessary envelope with the address printed and proper postage. An e-mail will be sent to the parent and/or student when this has been mailed. Please follow-up on this request, especially if you do not receive confirmation.

 | | 2e. The instructor will always be present in the lab class where he will primarily oversee that safety and lab instructions are followed properly. | | | He is available to the students for any questions or help they may need during the lab class.
|
 | | 2f. The instructor may at times show demonstrations during the lab class that may motivate the student to try these on their own. Labs 4 | | | Home specifically warns against trying these on their own. The instructions and chemicals will not be revealed to the students for any demonstration that is even slightly dangerous.
|
 | | 2g. Labs 4 Home is not responsible for any "experimentation" a student does at home or anywhere outside of the scheduled lab class, | | | where damage to property or person results. Parental supervision is advised and highly recommended for any "experimentation" done, outside of the lab class. The responsibility, then falls under the parent.
